SOLD: A Colt Walker pistol dating from the 1840s was sold $ 800 K before fees on 6 / 7 October by James D. Julia auction house in Fairfield, Maine.

The sale of Artcurial on November 5 in Paris is devoted to ancient arms, with a pistolet à rouet of Rudolph II of Habsburg (120 K €), (UNSOLD), an arquebus also from 16th century (60 K €) (UNSOLD) and a sword offered for honour to général d'Hautpoul (40 K €). (SOLD 100 K€ including fees).

Bonhams and Butterfields expects 300 K$ on a Colt revolver by Texas Paterson in San Francisco on November 17. (SOLD 375 K$ before fees)

The top estimated lot in the sale of Sotheby's at Gleneagles Hotel on August 25 is a pair of 2004 guns in their box by Luciano Bosis engraved by Laura Galeazzi (£ 70 K, lot 75). (UNSOLD).

Now that I consider the decoys as works of art, here are two sales:
-- 21 and 22 July at Cape Cod, by Decoys Unlimited (maximum of low estimates 75 K $); (SOLD 200 K$, probably before fees, a willet by Wilson).
-- July 23 in Boston by Copley Fine Art Auctions (maximum of low estimates 100 K $). (SOLD 210 K$ including fees a duck by Crowell).

Being the American auction specialists for decoys, on which high prices are sometimes made, Guyette and Schmidt makes its next major sale on 24 and 25 April at St.Charles, Illinois. I saw all of these ducks, but I am unable to tell you which are truly exceptional except that on top of page 2 I saw a goose of Canada signed Lem Ward smoothing its feathers! (SOLD by Charles Perdew maximum 137 K$, by Lee Dudley a decoy at 269 K$ et by Ray Thompson at 15 K$ a decoy of trout, including fees).

The company La Galerie Numismatique of Lausanne, Switzerland, is organizing one auction a year. The next will take place on January 13 at Waldorf Astoria in New York. The sale includes a very nice set of Russian coins and orders. Based on recent results in Paris, the success in this category is guaranteed in advance. So I prefer to refer to the number 1014, a Grand Cross of the Order of Osmania (Turkey), large-format (10.8 cm diameter), estimated at $ 10000. (UNSOLD).
