This is not the same as the example sold 550 K € before fees by Sotheby's on October 2! Here are a pair of swans by Kändler in Meissen porcelain, mounted in candelabra, at Bonhams and Butterfields in San Francisco on October 27 (125 K $, 16119 sale, Lot 3258). (SOLD 110 K$ before fees). The height of the porcelains is 23 cm, the pieces of Sotheby's were 33 cm high including the base.
On October 21, Christie's New York devotes an entire catalog (29 lots) to the Minton ceramic. Top of low estimates: $ 200 K, lot 17. (SOLD 260 K$ including fees).
On September 10 at Bonhams in London, a carp dish in Minton porcelain 1875 waits for 20 K£. (UNSOLD).
On November 5, at Drouot, Camard devotes a sale to the contemporary Japanese ceramics. The estimates are between 600 and 5000 €. (top SOLD 12 K€ before fees)
On 28 August in Edinburgh, Bonhams plays with a pig in Wemyss Ware (3 K£). (SOLD 5.8 K£ before fees).
The service La Mer was produced in Quimper faience by Henriot on designs by Meheut. A set of 53 pieces is estimated at 25 K € by Thierry - Lannon on July 4 in Douarnenez (Lot 23).
Dating from about 1690, a porcelain pot of Rouen is to be sold 100 K € on June 18 in Paris at Sotheby's. (SOLD 120 K€ including fees).
To compare with those to be sold four days later at Drouot, here are two bowls of Nevers with Loire bridge design, which will be presented at the Hotel des Ventes Giraudeau in Tours on June 9. Lot 144, 1788, is estimated 6 K €, (SOLD 8.9 K€ before fees) and Lot 146, the year VIII of French revolutionary calendar, 5 K €. (SOLD 11 K€ before fees). Cracks are reported.
In a sale devoted to the marine of the Loire, by Néret Minet et Tessier at Drouot on June 13, lot 122, estimated 12 K €, is a faïence of Nevers dated 1785, 35 cm in diameter, showing a series of boats. (SOLD 17.5 K€ before fees).
Once is not habit, I announce an object already sold: a ceramics of Jouve, sold 121 K$ including fees on April 16 at Doyle, Swiss purchase.
A superb Nevers cup of the sixteenth century full decorated by a mythologic story (diameter 29 cm) comes on June 4 at Drouot. It is presented by Piasa in an advertisement in The Gazette de l'Hotel Drouot. Very old as a Nevers piece, it has the appearance (at least to the uninitiated) of an Italian ceramics from the same period. (SOLD 10.2 K€ before fees).
In the Gillot sale being prepared by Christie's in Paris on 4 and 5 March, at number 365, a Spanish-Moorish albarello circa 1500 (50 K€) (SOLD 300 K€ before fees)
We see a lot of ads for charity sales. One of them, organized by Bonhams London on February 26, holds our attention because it is done in favour of the Leach Pottery Restoration Project, whose project is to open to the public the workshop of one of the most important potters of last century, Bernard Leach. (no result higher than 2.3 K£).
The important sets can better define the valuations, we will therefore be interested with a set of 800 ceramics by Charles Catteau which will be sold by Massol at Drouot on 21 and 22 February. (SOLD 30 K € each before fees, two sandstone vases with animal scenery; other significant price for vases of similar description).
