This white grand piano had a successful career. Made by an old Baltimore company named Wm Knabe and Co., we already saw it in the 1930's at Ellis Auditorium in Memphis. It was played by top performers, including WC Handy, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Cab Calloway.
After serving Duke and Count, it became the piano of the King, who had made it in white: Elvis Presley bought it in 1957 and installed it in his property of Graceland, in Memphis, where it was for twelve years one of his favorite instruments.
Estimated $ 750 K, it will be sold on the web on March 25 by an auction house based in New York, Gotta Have Rock and Roll, where it is the star lot of a sale entirely devoted to Elvis. It is sold with its bench.
I have already talked about this house which regularly offers important items of the rock and roll. So we do not leave Elvis without mentioning the excellent price they reached on one of his most luxurious stage costumes by designer Bill Belew: K $ 300 fees included, on 6 August 2008.
